where did everyone run there power wire to there amp. I can't seem to find a good size hole to run it into the cab from the engine compartment. Its only 8 gauge wire so it doesn't have to be a huge hole. 2000 f150
if you look from inside to right of steering column, up abit.
there is a piece of foom, pre cut. behind that, big, 2 1/2 plastic
grommet., just cut out whatever size hole ya need.
runnig rca's to deck abit harder.
good luck- and don't forget fuse at battery!
its usually a tight fit for bigger wires, but i ran 4 guage through that hole, along with all teh factory cables, plus a CB antenna cable. I'm sure you could manage 8 guage
I have a question here. Does it matter what guage wire you use for an amp? The reason I'm asking is that I'm looking into getting a new amp from 125-250RMS x2 and want to re-use my 8 guage wiring. Will this work or do I have to go bigger? Like this one: http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...ore=&catid=306
8 ga wire usually good to about 600 watts. 4 ga-1200 watts
sounds like what you have sould be fine. just remember to scrape
paint clear to metal for ground and make sure it is tight.
most amps die because of poor or loose ground.
i always run 4 ga. that way later if i want bigger or multiple
amps i have the power. also helps to keep amps cooler.
i think kenwood amps good, however most of your beter amps are going almost $1 per watt. unless it's a mono block amp,
only feed it 4 ohms when ya bridge it. it might say 2 ohm stable
but that's only in stereo.
