I think that all 4x4's were solid up until 1980. In 1980, they all went to IFS, including the F-350. In 1986 1/2 the F-350 went back to a solid Dana 60. I've also noticed recently that you can get an F-250 with a solid fron Dana 50. Not sure when that started, but it's a fairly recent thing.

Thanks for the help, andym! I know for sure that all Superduty 4X4's from 99 on have solid axles, but I owned a 79 F150 2wd that had Twin I-Beams, and wasn't sure if the 4X4's of that era had the Twin Traction Beams. I want to buy a parts truck to convert my 64 2wd to 4x4.
