Front Driver Side Noise?
Hello, I somewhat recently leveled my 2002 F350 4x4 7.3 CC LWB with a 2.6” (iirc) kit (within the last 500 miles). I put on a set of used 315 Open Country ATs on factory 16” rims at the same time. I started hearing a noise which I would describe as howling or whining coming from the front drivers side at that time. It reminds me of having knobby mud tires on pavement and is correlated with wheel speed, not engine speed (it’s there coasting in neutral on the highway too). When I leveled it I had an alignment done and they checked out my front end components at that time and gave it a clean bill of health. I jacked the front end up and it didn’t appear that I had any excess play in the bearing. I picked up a used set of 265s mounted on factory 16” rims and tried them - still have the noise (maybe not AS bad, but still clearly present). Just drove it a few miles on the highway and checked the temps on the brakes/rims/axle u-joints, etc. with an infrared thermometer and nothing drastically jumped at me. This pickup doesn’t get used a ton, but I really doubt that noise was there before this project.
Any suggestions or thoughts before I start replacing parts or bring it to a shop?
