Ok new here but I need some advice--got a 94 f350 4x4 that was converted over to carb from efi----needs new engine in it weak compression as the motor get hot----its got the c6 trans with the smaller bell housing for small blocks---got a 351w in it now with a 650 elderbrock new stage---could I early years and it still bolt in--if so what years----the truck has military tires 37x12.5 16.5 with inner liners----12 in lift kit total---any suggestions--
How much of the original wiring harness is left? Is it possible to go back to fuel injection or are you wanting to stay carb?
You can just find a junkyard 351 out of basically anything if you stay carb, but the 94-95 will be best if you want to go back to FI
If you are staying carb, it doesnt really matter what year block you use. The advantage to a 1994-95 block is it is factory roller, so you can run better cams than the older blocks and not have to worry about wiping out a cam lobe.
what years carry the roller instead of the other---I want something with more hp -----if I go used the 351w is as big as I can go correct without having to change bell housing if I can even do that-----I can buy reman with the upgrades but what Ive looked at so far is kind of pricy
The only factory roller 351w as far as I know are 1994 1995 bronco and trucks and 96 and 97 f250s and 350s.
And yes, you have to stay in the Windsor family to keep your current transmission
