Dash Repair

A lot of bad things happened to this dash in 57 years. I’m also going to weld up the 10 drill holes below the radio area.

Made a flanged patch panel

I’ll need to fix the area top left of the repair area then It’ll need a skim of filler to be just right

Spent a few more hours on the dash this morning. Fixed the area top left of the radio location. Welded up the ten holes below the radio area.

Thank you. That area had obviously been repaired before. It was really a mess. It’ll need a thin skim of filler to be just right. I plan on installing a restored stock Bendix tube radio.

Ok, I know one of you guys has the two prong speaker connector for this Bendix radio. How’s about selling me one.

Going from memory some of those holes on the bottom were stock. The '63 I had never had any radio. I still wish I had it.

The only hole I left was the radio support bracket hole. Speaking of brackets, anyone have a stock bracket they want to part with? I can make one if I need to.

Drilled the dash and installed the stock radio. Added a 1956 Crown Vic glove box door emblem.

Nice work on the repair, and I'm liking the Crown Vic emblem on the glove box.

I just got my dash repaired. Not sure if I want to go with a restored stock radio or one from a mustang.

I have been recommended using the filler metal2metal because of its versatility and strength by several people. Any objections(sorry to hijac)

Your repair looks good.
I haven’t heard of the metal2metal filler. Let us know how it works.

I've heard it's very hard to get the hardener mixed right and then it can be very hard to sand.
Looks good in the photo though.
