Yes I did and I had to drill 2 new holes in the slider part of the rails. The original holes of the slider did not fall out where I could get a bolt and nut on them. Due to the curve of the metal seat pan/frame underneath. Remember the top slider "bracket" bolts to the seat. And 2 of the original holes would not line up. Remember you have to line up the mount bracket hole and the slider part hole to get the bolt thru the mount bracket. Does all that make sense? Hang in there you got this.
Yard said this was from an 03 , but the pattern and body side molding , I believe it to be a 2000.
frame is a little different over the years , but as you can see , it is in. Thinking I will dye the seat black , see how the tan grows on me .
Man those super duty seats look good in our trucks! They don't have my two biggest turn-offs with newer seats.
First, there are not a bunch of controls or even trim/cover panels facing you when you open the door, just upholstery and a manual adjuster handle for the factory slider like it's supposed to be. Also, many newer seats have too much 'bucket' contour to them, especially with their high backs and integral headrests. None of that stuff looks right to me in a Dent.
Although I wouldn't mind having some 1970s-style headrests on a factory Dentside seatback. I don't ever want to thunk my head on that backlite...
I guess that's something else to keep an eye out for at the junkyards, especially as those trucks will probably only become more common at the yards. I keep wondering when OBS trucks are going to become as rare as Dents at the yards here.
My Dent's torn original seat would make a great couch for the basement!
One thing I noticed during this swap , is the newer seat , with mostly all foam and a steel perimeter , weighs close to the same as the original seat. Still a work out for and old guy , doing this by himself .
I have only driven roughly 50 miles , but this seat is very comfortable.
