08 6.4L

Should I flush power steering system.fluid when replacing steering gearbox OR just top it off? I have an 08 f250 with 135k miles.
any advice is appreciated

I'd say:

1. Run it
2. Drain all the fluid you can as soon as possible after you shut it off
3. Change steering gear
4. Fill and test
5. Enjoy

Perform the power steering system flush per the manual, then swap the steering gear, and then a quick second flush. You don't want any old dirt or yuck in the new gear, and just in case the quality of work on the new gear wasn't so great make sure that it doesn't add any contaminants to the system either. Fluid is cheep. Good luck, Russ
