Yes, I'm old (48). I still have a CB from my older truck days. It's a tweeked unit that I haven't let go and I want to install it in my new (to me) F150.
Historically, I ran firestick antennas and a Wilson 1000 on my 2008 F350 and 2009 F150. But, with my new (to me) truck being aluminum, will the Wilson 1000 even have the benefit it had on my steel cab? Is there a better solution out there?

I haven't seen 48 since last century. What does that make me?!?
I think FordFre@k created this post just to brag about being so young.
There is a ham radio shop near my office. They have all sorts of cool mounts for every type of radio.
I don’t know where you are located, but if near a large city, there is probably one there.
48 ? Ok kid. I still have a couple of CB radios. I need an antenna on my 79 f150 but nobody I know uses a CB anymore. I still have one in the Lightning but it's graveyard quiet the few times I had it on the last few years. We use to use them communicating between trucks when we went racing, now everyone has a cell phone. Look around, you'll find mount options. Who knows, maybe we can fuel a CB comeback.
I wonder if truckers still use CB's? I see them for sale at truck stops when travelling.
It seems to still be a relevant product for truckers, but I'm not sure. 2020, have you tried yours on a busy interstate to see if it's still graveyard quiet?

What else could they use? Still seems like it would be a good means of communication but what do I know.
48??? I've got kids almost 48! I'll be 73 next month. Old enough to have gone through the CB craze in the 70's when I drove a semi tanker truck. Only 23 channels back then.
I haven't heard much on mine for a long time. I have to admit though, it's probably been summer before last that I had my CB on. I didn't get any response the last time I tried it though. I haven't raced for several years, my friends and I would probably be using them to and from the track though if I were racing.
