Interior ceiling grab handle

Hello. Hope this isnt a stupid question but why dont the F-150’s come with some sort of ceiling/roof grab handle? Sometimes if my wife is driving and im sitting in the front or back (if my kids wanna ride shotgun) i constantly find myself reaching up for a handle of some sort. Numerous passengers in my truck also look for it as well! Ive been in full size tundras and titans and they both have them. Is it an American truck thing? I dont think my bro in laws 2019 chevy has them either. I own a 2019 F-150 SCREW. I know they have the pillar mounted handles but they offer a funky holding position, if you will, when your searching for something to grab onto and hold while cruising around. Maybe its just me?

Glad you said something, the pillar grab handle is useless to me, very awkward, I can't recall using it once in my past couple trucks. I miss a roof grab a lot.

So, any reason as to why they dont do it anymore? aluminum roof? Is it even remotely possible to somehow add one?

My old 250 had the same lame arrangement so aluminum doesn't have anything to do with it.

The A-pillar is pretty strong, so it's probably easier for Ford to use that with no further reinforcement.

I agree. I find the grab handle on the A-pillar quite handy and easy to reach. My wife uses it all the time.

I think the Pillar Handles are for getting in and out of the Vehicle since it sits high. Thats my opinion. My wife and sister in law wish the roof handles I wonder if there is a after market place that can install them.

My 64 yo knees agree as well. The A pillar handle is great for getting in when you've got a level on the truck.

They are making at least two, I'm sure they don't want to make 3 or more.
Nor would they want to put some handles on the roof and some on the pillar.

At 72 I wouldn't be able to in my leveled 2017 without running boards and the pillar handles. Wish my '62 F100 had them.

Well count me in also 66 year old beat up knees agree with all of you. If I remember correctly my 2012 Steel body had them as well. 2015 had them. I use them so I don't crush the foam down in the sides, I use them getting out as well. My wife's Edge has them above the door I don't use them getting in but I sure do getting out.
