Duraspark conversion?
First, why would you want to do this? I have a feedback carb, and it works fine. My truck starts and runs when I want it to. Why would I want to go through the effort of doing the swap?
Thanks
Andy
I actually did the Duraspark2/HEI conversion..i used a Chebby HEI module out of late 70's gm vehicles fo rmy ignition..It runs really well..and my mileage increased about 3 mpg. (granted went from no timing advance to having it)
I am hunting down a Duraspark dizzy and the rest of the stuff to convert from the feedback to the non-feedback. Violjohn78, why did you use the Chevy part? What year dizzy did you get? My non-feedback carb is in place and the truck runs great compared to before. Can't wait to get the rest of this stuff. Will all I need, then to complete this is the Duraspark distributor and the Duraspark control box? Will I need the coil from the Duraspark system? Sorry for the questions, just want to have my ducks in a row before I go to the junk yard. Thanks.

I used the stock tfi coil. and haven't had any problems, i'm not sure if you'd need to convert though, don't think so though. I just went online to NAPA's site and searched for a singla vacuum advance dizzy for my year (1984) and chose that part.
Most recommend getting teh stock duraspark wiring harness. Usually have to get it from a boneyard..there is plenty of info on doing the swapin this site..plus check out Fordsix.com going to the tech section there's a article on converting to Duraspark
