i recently bought a 85 ford F-250 with a 460. THe guy who had it before me had it punced out .30 over. about how much would that have in horsepower and cubic inches? if you kow, write me back

If you really mean 0.300" over bore (doubtful), it would be at 525 cid. But if you menat 0.030" over bore (much more likely), it would be 466 cid. Who knows about the hp, depends what else is done to the engine. But the 6 extra cubes will make a very negligible difference if thats all that has changed.

If you look at it another way, from which you take the old, thrashed, worn out 460 and compare it to the freshly bored out and all new internals: rings bearings, pistons etc - basically putting it back to a factory new condition then the power increase would probably be considerable. But, as you said, barring any performance enhancing upgrades such as a hotter cam and shaving the heads etc. it would be negligable.
