I just bought a 92 150 2wd and i aneed to get rims and tires. What size is the "pattern" for the jugs. As you can tell im not real good when it comes to car stuff.
Ok, so I just inherited this 91 F 250 and it has the steel wheels and lovely hubcabs. Will the 8 lug pattern from the newer F250's say 97 or 2001's fit my 8 lug pattern? I'd like to start sprucing this thing up a little.
All Ford 8 lug pattern for the clear up to the '97 F-250HD and '97 F-350 will work, the pattern is 8 on 6.5. The new 99+ F-250 and F-350's will not fit, the bolt pattern is metric, 8 on 125mm I believe. Chevy and Dodge both use the 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern for their 8 lugs, so they will interchange. Hope this helps. The full floater Sterling 10.25 rear axle in your F-250 will require some deeper center caps, as Dodge and Chevy's rear hub is not as deep. The Dodge and Chevy rear caps will not work. Have a great day.
Pardon me for butting in but, pfogle, are you saying that Ford, Chevy and Dodge can use the same rim? I have an '83 Chevy full size, would the rims from that fit my '93 F150?
chevy wont fit anything but chevy, but ford and dodge will fit on chevy. although i'm not sure if dodge and ford are swapable. they have the same bolt patterns but the hubs are different sizes i'm assuming, since chevy will only fit chevy. Bt the way i figure it,first hand experice is the best
Also the rims from a Jeep will fit. I have had a few old CJ-5's and CJ-7's and have swapped rims from my 1978 F-150 to Jeep to 1994 F-150. They are all the same as long as the measurements are 5 on 5.5. I honestly didn't know Chevy ever used that pattern but thanks for the info.
I have 8 lugs on my 88 F250 also and would love to do a cheap swap to some nicer looking rims. Since I have the floater rear I guess that means I have to stick to pre-97? Ford 8 lug rims.
About the only differences are the center hole where the hub comes through is larger/smaller depending on brand, and also some chevy 4x4 (most of them) and the 3/4 ton vans were 6 lug axles.

Like I said before, all aftermarket Chevy, Dodge, and Ford rim's will interchange. Yea the hubs are different sizes but the aftermarket center hole allows for this. Aftermarket Chevy rims will, in fact, fit on pre '99 F-250HD's and F-350's, been there, done that. The full floating Sterling 10.25 in our trucks has the biggest hub out of the big 3, so you shouldn't have any trouble.
