Moisture in Lamps

I just bought a 2000 F250 CC SD. The truck came with clear aftermarket turn, parking, and tail lamps. I have moisture in the turn and parking lamps. I am told I can fail inspection for this. Any suggestions on a fix?

Take the bulb out and dry it somehow. You need to figure out where the water is coming in. A lot of times there will be a hairline crack that is allowing the moisture in. Use some silicone to seal it. It could also be the foam or rubber gasket on the bulb socket.

Having read about how prone aftermarket lenses are to leakage, I initiated a premptive strike on my clear corners a few days after installing them, sealing them up with silicone. Unfortunately, I did it on a rather humid day and now that it's less humid (but still hot) there's a very light film of moisture over the lenses and plasti-chrome inside. It's not quite enough that anybody else would notice, and I can't decide if it bothers me enough to do anything about it.

Anyway, the point of this little parable is to let you know you might still encounter some moisture even with silicone (unless you put them in the oven @ a low temp for a couple of minutes before sealing, maybe).
