Rear differential bolt in

Is a dana 44 from a 1966 F 100 a direct bolt in in place of a spicer 60/2 in a 1064 F 100. Spring perch width. Overall width of the axle. Shock mounts. Yoke for the drive shaft emergency brake cables and so on. If I do this I want a no hassle swap

Your experience must be different than mine because ND didn't work on these trucks much even back in the day - he was a Parts Manager - so personally I have not seen him posting much about swapping things or knowing if emergency brake cables will swap from a Dana 60-2 to a Dana 44. There are a gazillion driveshafts - each transmission and rear axle type almost anything different necessitated a different driveshaft. I'd take a wild guess myself that spring perches would be the same location roughly since the frames were the same width. But, since I don't have either a Dana 44 rear axle (front only) or a Dana 60-2 here to take any measurements from either one I can't say for sure. Possibly someone with both that hasn't chimed in yet. Best of luck.

I have a 5 lug Dana 60-2 in a 66 F100 that I am parting out. If I recall the metal tag on the housing reads 3.54:1 and C8.

If interested shoot me a pm. Thanks, Jason

I don't know about those specific axles but...

I'm going to say no because a 65+ 9" is not a bolt-in into '64 and earlier. The shock mounts do not quite line up and there is a difference in the shock eye diameter but I don't recall if it was upper or lower. I don't remember exactly what I was trying to do at the time when I noticed that. These are not insurmountable but make it not a bolt-in by my definition, which is literally that all that is required is that it bolts in and functions correctly without any modification required.

Your definition of bolt in and mine is the same thanks for the info.
