I'm on a quest to reverse engineer bin files to learn more about software and also engine functions and getting live data from parameters.

Anyone experienced with ECM hardware and software could explain why a ECU part of a certain model/series of a year (ie excursion or super duties) would have so many software updates? what's the difference between all the versions that I would expect to appear?

My personal experience is the WiFi download update is a POC. Ford shut down during the Pandemic.
The truck didn't know where it was until ford started back up. Total B.S. My military GPS always knew\
where I was. Sinc is crap. I wish I could buy a F150 new with 60's builds and fuel injection and blow off
Whatever the Crap says now.

The thing on the Dash above the heater is crap. Just shoot the ECM / PCM / SINC, whatever suits you.
