So I have a 94 f150 4x4 with dana44 front axle. Auto hubs replaced with manual. Doing the front end while I still have a job... Right front outside ujoint was seized. Once I took shaft out I noticed the yoke on the stub shaft was bent. Was hard to find but I got a new one. Except it's 0.2 inches shorter than the original. When I was shopping around for one I noticed there was 2 different lengths for the 19 spline shaft dana44. I thought I measured it right but I didn't. Is this a big deal? With all the splines being as long as they are and just slipping in and out will it affect anything? Be dangerous? I don't do much 4wheeling and when I do it's mostly on the beach.. cheers
Might try to bend the yoke back... thinking the snap ring holding the hub might be an issue with the shorter length stub shaft. Would hate to press new heavy duty moog u joint and find out the snap ring doesn't seat.
I think the difference is between a ttb 44 and a solid 44. And I'm fairly sure you can not swap the 2 parts.
Ahhh I see. Thanks. I was able to bend the original yoke back (it was just one side of the yoke/cap seat) . It's pretty spot on so I'm going to go with that!
