460 oil pan

460 oil pan
I have a 69 f 100 with a 460 out of 69 lincoln.I cant figure out how to get the oil pan off with the engine in the truck.I need to inspect my berings to determine if they are worn or not.I know there are lots of guys that have done this and was wondering how?

I have a 71 F250 4X4 w/ a 460. If you are having problems getting the pan off because there is not enough room I have the same problem. I have to lift the engine off the mounts and also lift the front of the truck up. This allows enough room to get a wrench inbtween the pan and block to unbolt the oil pump. Then the pan slids off. WHAT A MESS!!!!! I beleave next time I will just pull the engine. Good luck
