8 ft bed interchange will a 2002 8 ft bed interchange with a 2017 8 ft bed ?

Not directly. Stick with 2016 and older.

Actually, there was a guy on this forum did just that. No, it was not a perfect match; but from all appearances his truck was just a work truck and the price he did for was just right for him. And it did take a little fabricating to do it.
