Are you referring to the ICP sensor? New OEM is the way to go yes. They come with a new o-ring. Riff Raff is the go-to for the best price AND assurance that it will not be counterfeit. https://www.riffraffdiesel.com/injec...-sensor-97-03/
If yours is the old style, here's a good video of how to remove it without special tools.
The new one allows a deep socket to fit over it.
