I just installed a brand new Melling M208 on my truck after driving it and suddenly having no oil pressure and getting stuck on the side of the road. I replaced it, and it wouldn't start. I finally got it started after trying everything and using ether. (Don't worry, I unplugged the glowplugs.) It starts fine when the oil is cold. For some reason, it takes forever to make oil pressure when cranking, but when I get it started, it runs about 50 psi. Fuel pressure while cranking is 65 psi. ICP gets up to about 300 psi when cranking. Hpop reservoir stays full within a 1/2 inch of the top. WOT in 5th gear the ICP makes around 2500 psi. IPR, ICP, CPS, and EBP sensors are all new Motorcraft. Oil has maybe 100 miles on it since I changed it when I did the pump. I have been driving because I thought maybe there was a lot of air in the system. I have tried everything I know. I called RiffRaff and Clay was just as confused as I was. I am low on money and low on patience at this point. I am a 16 year old in highschool that barely has a job, and I bought this truck to get experience for Wyotech.
Sounds like injector O rings might be bad.
Pressurize the oil system via ICP port, hear for gargling from each bank and this will confirm bad injector O rings.
O rings it is. I pulled the valve cover off and cylinder number two had oil leaking everywhere around the injector. I'm just gonna do all eight since they're factory o rings with 316,000 miles on them.
