Fuel problem help
I have a 1986 bronco with the 302 V8 engine. It had been sitting for a while before I bought it. The gas tank was empty so I put fresh gas in with some seafoam. I also put a new battery, change the oil and filter, I filled up the radiator because it was also empty. First turn of the key it did start. It ran for a while but rough. When I presses the gas pedal it would bog and die. I was able to start it up a few times no problem. No smoke coming from the exhaust. But then it wouldn’t start anymore. The only test I’ve done so far is depressing the Schrader valve on the throttlebody and turning the key. Correct me if I’m wrong, but when I do that fuel should squirt out? Nothing comes out. At least from that test it would appear gas is not getting to the throttlebody. I don’t want to just start throwing parts at it and spending a bunch of money. Please tell me what troubleshooting steps I should take to identify the culprit. By the way, when I turn the key halfway, I can hear a fuel pump, although, I don’t know which one it is since this bronco has two fuel pumps, one in the tank and one on the rail.

Good old Fords! Started right up. I'd back up a bit first though - and perform a cylinder compression test. As you mention it's pointless to throw parts at it without knowing the basic mechanical condition. Rule out major unpleasantness like broken rings or burnt valves.
If compression is even across all the cylinders and at least in the ballpark for specs it should run well with a good Tune-Up.
