Does anyone know the specific steel alloy that Ford made their frames from in 1967/68? I have found a couple of cracks that I want to weld up and I want to be sure and buy the correct sticks.
If using sick just your every day stick forget the number 1160 or 1060 or is it 1016?
If you had MIG that could do the job they only make 1 type of steel wire that I know of.
I am not a welder but pretend to be one in my garage
I have a 110 volt MIG that I used to weld braces on the axle spring pads and the tubes to the center housing on my 1/4 mile drag car.
Used the same welder to do all the patch panels on the cab of my 81 F100 and made mods to the factory bumpers, just crank it up and watch the weld time / load.
