Not one of my brightest. Finally decided to clean the interior of my truck. It's been well over a year and the floor was just caked with who knows what. Rather than spend all day scrubbing I decided I'd just spray it out since I don't have carpet. Cleaned it real well but I didn't relize that there were pads under the plastic floor. So the floor is now pulled up and my car will probably be drying for the next few days. Glad I carpool to work. Just hope there isn't anything electircal I might have fried while I was at it. Note to self... Buy coffee cups with lids. And lots O rags.
OK, I have problems. My CEL and ABS lights are both on. My speedo/odometer behave eraticly jumping 20mph at a time up and down and completely shutting off above 50 mph. Hope someone can help!

Are these new problems after you had your brainstorm?

Sounds like water got to the a.b.s module.
The check engine light is on because of the
spedo error.find the a.b.s. module and remove
the connector.Blow out the connector and module
with compressed air.Hope it didn't fry the module.

It probably was the water of course, but I also wonder if it may have had something to do with pulling up the floor. If there is another speed sensor by the gearshift or under the dash is there any possibility I could have pulled something loose. I find most mentions of the speed sensor being outside on the rear axle in which case I don't know how I could have damaged that. Found one mention of another one up front but I have yet to tear things up to find it. Not that I really know what I'm looking for. BTW, if it was not gathered from my first post I do not recommend cleaning the truck in this way. Duh. Used to do it to my '48 Ford all the time but then it didn't even need a key to start.
