Ford 351w Windsor

I have an '79 F350 with a 400. I have a friend who has a rebuilt 351w. Would that fit with little trouble in my truck? Has anyone done this swap?

Different bell pattern. Are you auto or manual?

Define little trouble.

Cooling, exhaust, linkages, fuel lines, transmission. And a few more.

If it's the truck in your signature, you'll need a small block bellhousing, (I think the 300 I6 is the same) and a pair of engine mount towers for a small block.

A 429 or 460 will bolt right in as far as I know though...

I did it on a 66 w/435 no problem mechanical. But stock

exhaust manifolds were not truck friendly, driver side to close to firewall and required shorty/block hugger headers.

sanderson block huggers for a 351w in a 65 fairlane. worked perfectly, little pricey.
