Hi I’m new and I’m probably in the wrong spot lol but could someone please tell me what this is for and where the other end goes
And also would a really dirty filter cause it to act like it can’t get gas have replaced all 8 plugs and send and replaced both timing sensors still acting up
That's your hot water valve, for your cabin heat system. Who's been working on your Expy? That vacuum tube goes on the front side of the hot water valve, not on the hinge shaft.
How many miles on the vehicle ? If you don't know when the fuel filter was last changed it doesn't hurt to replace it with a new one. Are you getting any Check Engine light DTC codes on your OBDII reader?

it has 240k miles. It was throwing the ignition cam sensors on both pass and drivers side. Replaced them. Then it showed a misfire in 5 7 and 8. Went ahead and replaced all 8 plugs and sensors. Paid and had timing relearned after changing the timing sensors but it still acts like it’s not getting gas it starts perfect and idles right for a little bit then it starts acting like it’s dying. The check engine light hasn’t came back on yet. Also the air filter was horrible replacing it tomorrow. My husband stuck the hose on there he thought it went there lol. Where does the other end go and what goes on the spot he has it plugged to now
Nothing goes on that hinge shaft on the hot water valve. The vacuum tube on the hot water valve comes from a pass-thru grommet on the firewall below the ECU computer on the passenger side of the firewall. Are you the original owners of the Expy? Or do you know any of the maintenance history? The '05's were the worst year for the Expy because it was the first year for that 3-valve Rube Goldberg motor. The engine misfires are usually chased down to a bad coil or the cam phasers failing. Ford redesigned the cam phasers a few years later. I would imagine the timing chains and guides had to have been changed out already, but some people tried to skimp and not replace the cam phasers when they did that work and it just leads to more work for somebody later.
The shrouded vacuum line runs up to the hot water valve. The bare vacuum line is the SUPPLY line FROM the intake manifold vacuum to the vacuum distribution module under the dash in front of the center console....
