Bed extender

We have a bed extender on our 2010 F250. Getting a 2020 F350, supposed to be delivered at the end of September. When ordering (back in February!) I wanted to order it with the bed extender, but apparently is no longer available. Anyone have one in a new truck? And, do you think it would be possible to order through the parts department! I thought perhaps it was because we ordered the short bed with gooseneck hitch, but now I don’t see it on the Ford site regardless of bed length or 5th wheel/gooseneck hitch installation.

Not sure for the new ones but I had the dealer install one in my 2018 when I bought it. It was a Ford accessory. I love it. Folds up against the bedsides when not used.

I’ve been shopping them too. Have come up wit a couple of numbers for my 2018.

HC3Z-99286A40-A This one looks to be the Ford version.

VKC3Z-99286A40-A This one is sold by Ford but built by Amp. I’m leaning toward this one because it look like it gives a little more space. They also have an optional no-drill mounting bracket for it. Buying from Ford, it’s expensive. Better prices direct from Amp or even Amazon.

When I got my new-to-me 2017 CCSB 4X4 in March (just before Covid shutdown) I had the dealer add one to the truck. It took two days to get the unit and an hour or so to install. I think it was around $400 installed. The difference with the current one and one I had in my 2009 is that the new one is curved and doesn't give you the square 8 foot load capacity on the tailgate that older one did. I basically use it as a bed divider so I can get to my stuff without it sliding to the from of the bed.
