Its right at 13 gallons if I remember right. Also if you replace the thermostats ( Yes there is two) to only use the original parts from CAT or reliance. There is some junk disc thermostats made by stant for this engine and are totally trash.

Good engine, plenty still out there, running, working even though they stopped production decades ago, not sure which variant you have:

3208 is known for a problem with coolant crossover tubes / passages (steel or plastic) ---> hardened / failing / failed o-rings
(very common and a typical replacement item)
If yours are plastic you'll likely have to pull heads on the beast to replace, plus front components (engines are heavier than most-- around 2,000 lbs)
