Engine mounts

I just replaced my original engine mounts in my 1956 F100. I bought the new mounts from Dennis Carpenter. Now the truck has awful vibrations. None before. Anyone else experience this?

It’s hard to imagine installing fresh rubber to replace old compressed and deteriorated rubber would cause a vibration. Unless the old mounts were so worn out that the new ones changed your drive shafts angle. You didn’t say, is this idling, under torque, ??? Get what I’m asking? Since the rear motor mounts on a Y Block are close to the spark plug wires. I’d look ate them first. If your lucky you may have just bumped on and it’s not on the spark plug well. But it could be that if they’re old moving them around has allowed a questionable wire to get close enough to a ground that it’s now jumping spark.
I just realized you didn’t say it was a missing so wires may not be your issue but I’d still check them. Also I’d take a look and all the clutch linkage. It’s possible that “fixing” the motor mounts May have caused some alignment issues.
as always just thoughts while having my morning coffee.

I've got DC's engine mounts and trans mount on my '52 (totally different setup). The rubber on the trans mount in particular is as hard as rock. I get noticeable vibrations at certain RPM and have no doubt that is the cause. I don't think they make any attempt to use the correct grade (durometer) of rubber. No way I'd trust NOS rubber after so many years, but it would be tempting to try them.

I failed to mention that the engine is the original 223 6 cylinder. It's definitely not a spark plug issue. I tend to agree with it being possibly a clutch/driveline alignment issue. It was running great until my mechanic attempted to replace the clutch and engine mounts. Clutch parts were defective. Old clutch back in with new engine mounts and vibrations are awful.

I doubt it is a driveline angle issue. Is there now metal to metal contact somewhere between the engine/trans/exhaust and body or frame? If not, plus if it was fine with the old clutch, I'd suspect there is something weird with those new mounts. Keep in mind most repro parts are copies of OEM. They could of have got something wrong, durometer rating, etc.
