7 Pin Connector Question

Is the 12v aux charging pin always hot? Or does the truck need to be running?

Usually it needs to be running, or heck, you could drain your battery overnight. On my 2020, I think it needs to be running, and maybe in gear.

Its been a while since I've tested but I think on my '14 F 150 the key has to be on to get power to the aux port in the 7 pin connector.

Thanks. That's probably why people run a wire from the battery to the trailer for a source of 12V power in the trailer.
