Do you have 2 tanks?
Do you have a switch on the dash for 2 tanks?
How many hoses go to it, looks like only 2 from the picture but could have 1 we cant see?
What do the hoses we can see come from and go to?
The wire clip looks like it is broken and the wire could be pulled out is there power to that wire?

yes I have two tanks one in the rear and on the side and yes I have a switch on the right side of the heater control
AWAS it is the tank switching valve.
It would have 3 hoses on it.
1 in from each tank = 2
and 1 out to the fuel pump on the side of the motor then on to the carb = #3
If you check for power it will only have power if on the front / side tank and not have power when on the rear tank.
That is how my 81 F100 Flare side works. Last week I was running on the front / side tank, had 210 miles on it and the gauge was still on 3/4 when it should have been empty.
Quick flip to the rear tank and saw it at 1/4. The valve defaults to the rear tank with no power. I had a short and blew the fuse and why it had no power.
The gauge part is in the dash switch and why it was still showing the front / side tank level when on that tank.

That makes sense I figured it was a switch valve but wasn’t sure thank you
