My friend has approximately 1,000 magazines from 1972-1985 , hot rod , muscle car , car craft etc . I don't believe he wants anything for them just a good home as he is unwilling to throw them out . If anyone is interested or knows someone who may be let me know .
I really wouldn't even want to guess . Weight might be the big thing . I guess a person could take a number of magazines and measure and weigh them and multiply to give a reasonable guess of weight and size to get a quote .
Don't know about Canada but I've been selling my Classic Trucks and Custom Classic Trucks magazines on Ebay for a while now. They do not qualify for media mail because of advertisements in them. The least expensive way I've found to ship them is in a USPS Flat Rate Padded Envelope for $8.40. You can get about nine magazines in one package. If you ship more than nine you can use a USPS Large Flat Rate box which ships for $21.10. I haven't used a large flat rate box for magazines yet but I have shipped exhaust manifolds in them. You can ship up to 70 pounds in the flat rate boxes.

I've recently been throwing my old mags away. Do they move well selling them on uPaY?
With a single income and three growing boys to feed, I have to fund my toys by my own creativity...

It's very slow. I've sold about 20 magazines over the past two years. There's no money in it. I just hate to throw them away especially since they are all in like new condition.
Ya it's not about getting money he just hates to throw them out . I can see selling the odd one to complete sets or a particular car or article , but not a whole random collection .
When I was building my two trucks (48 F-3 and 49 F-1) from 2003-2010 I subscribed to both Classic Trucks and Custom Classic Trucks to get ideas and "how to" articles that might apply to my trucks. I haven't owned a truck since about 2012 but I still think the magazines might be of use to someone building one.
I had complete collection of CCT and CT fro,m 1995 thru 2015, couldn't give them away. Even had them all indexed in a excel spreadsheet so I could find articles I wanted to keep...They all ended up in the dumpster. The last couple of years they really weren't worth the subscription... just an list of advertisers and how to articles on advertisers stuff... no real tech stuff at all..
