If you're looking for a better deal on DEF, you might try saving your containers and filling them back up at the local truck stop at the pump where the 18 wheelers fill theirs. It's often cheaper than anywhere else I've seen.

I cannot recomend this mod enough. Something I wish I did long ago. If you haven't done it yet, bite the bullet and get er done.

When I first bought my S&B, I didn't think the savings on cheaper fuel would be that significant, but let me tell you, when you more than double your range, you can really seek out fuel stops that are cheaper and save some money. My most notable example was pulling my fifth wheel down the interstate and seeing fuel at $2.29 where my range with the oem tank would've dictated a fuel stop, and I would've been forced to fill up there. 30 or so miles down the road, fuel was $1.89, and I had the ability to make it that way. My tank was actually empty due to not filling up before I hit the road that morning, (something I could never do with the OEM tank) so I took full advantage of that $1.89 fuel. $15 savings on that tank alone, and thats just one example. It does add up over the course of a summer when towing. I don't expect this fuel savings to pay off the cost of the tank in full, but it's definitely an added bonus.

I also enjoy the peace of mind of not worrying about running out of fuel in between stops. I can drive over 450 miles out to the Black Hills on a tank of fuel with my 5er hooked up and not worry one bit, and still have fuel left over for puttsing around once I unook the camper. Its liberating not being tied to the nearest fuel stop like I was with the 26 gallon tank.

It was a pretty simple question actually. Why do folks stockpile a common, inexpensive item that is needed only occasionally and that's need can be anticipated weeks in advance? When I need DEF I buy it and pour it directly into the truck. Like fuel.

If that is me "calling you out", then ok...

I have a 36 mile round trip to work plus the fact she's my daily driver, and once I get a plow plus a camper... more range is better for me than the frequent stops to refill during the work week or in general. Oh, I will have one at one point, no doubt. Thanks.
