not sure if this is the right area for this..sorry in advance. has anyone used puncture seal on their truck tires and do they realy work? i have a slowww air leak on my ranger. thanks
ive used it in a pinch but never as a remedy for a leak in a tire as they recommend you should use this stuff to get to where youre going and then get the tire properly repaired or in your case sealed
I've used this stuff around the farm in wagon and implement tires. It works on a temporary basis and seems to last a few weeks. It's a good emergency repair but is not permanent.
Let me give a couple cautions though. Sometimes this stuff will glue up your valve stem. I've had it essentially just glue a shrader valve open or shut so that it sticks and can't be filled or causes a leak by itself and had to replace the tire valve. I also believe this stuff leads to your rim rusting on the inside. I've used this on some mower tires for a period of time like 3-4 months to avoid having to replace the tire when I couldn't find a leak and when I did get around to replacing the tire found the rim had really rusted inside. I think some of this stuff is latex based. Finally, I've read that if you use too much of it in passenger tires it can actuall cause the tire to become out of balance as this stuff ***** up and sticks to one side of the tire. Read that in automotive magazines. Actually, I keep a can in each of my road vehicles for emergencies, just haven't had to use it yet.
thanks to both of yous for the information on this stuff. i put this sealer in and i will get eather another tire or just get it fixed..darn this tire is near new and i may have to replace it. again thanks for your advice guys
