Kicking around some ideas here so bear with me. Trailer would be a 5th wheel weighing in around 16,000 pounds wet and 35 feet long. Two adults in the cab and maybe 300 pounds of stuff in the truck.
How would a 2020 F350 diesel crew cab 4x4 perform towing it?
Maybe its me but I really haven't seen many 35' fiver's that have less than a 3k pin weight. All I can say is the power is there for sure but verify trailer weight ( Don't believe manufacturers low pin weights). Also verify the payload of your truck on a certified scale to get payload.
My 4H GN horse trailer is 13,000lbs loaded. My F350 SRW CC LB pulls it just fine I have 35" tires and the 3.55 axle.
You will be close to, if not over max payload over the rear axle with a 16,000 lbs 5ver.
So truck will pull and stop it. Just watch your axle weights and load range on your tires/wheels and axle.
Thanks folks. I thought it would be close to the limit for a single wheel rear axle truck. We are kicking around the idea of buying a 5th wheeler and parking it at a camping spot. It will only be towed to the camping area and parked year around. But the camping area is 4200 miles away in Alaska, lol.
Weighs 12,500 fully loaded with tanks full and all gear. Two adults and a kiddo in the cab. Fuel cans, Honda Generator etc.
I have a 2020 F350 KR SRW SB. It handles amazing. I installed tembren to level the load. The truck feels like it would pull the trailer inside out if I wanted to.... my payload is like 3450. I have the camper package.
I know not many care about that, but that’s how it all worked out. My Jayco was advertised at 10,000lbs it’s 37ft long.
Not sure the pin weight of what you're looking at, but I have a 2020 350 CCLB 6.7 and payload is 4513. Rear gawr is 7230. Those are pretty big numbers for a SRW.
It will pull it no problem. You may consider adding bags to keep it level and improve the overall ride while towing.
I pull a 44ft toy hauler, 16k lbs dry. We dont ever haul a bunch of water and the most we load in the garage is 3 dirt bikes. I run 60 lbs in my airbags and the truck performs great. Weve put over 12,000 miles on the trailer in 12 months, up and over the rocky mountains, cascade mountains and in the desert areas of Utah without any problems. Im sure some will say I am over loaded, maybe I am but I believe that Ford under rates these trucks for liability purposes.
I agree with those saying you'll be very happy with the experience. I towed my recently sold 44 foot 21k GVWR toy hauler with both my 2012 SRW 350 and my 2017 SRW 350 for 5 years and about 40k miles in all kinds of conditions. Wind. Mountains. Etc. I never wanted more truck. I did choose an RV with a lighter than average pin weight and never exceeded rear GAWR.

Are you sure on the weight? 35' and 16k pounds. Is it make of lead?

We upgraded to a 5th wheel last year. The GVWR of a every 5ver we looked at 34-28 feet had GVWRs around 16-17K. We tow a Grand Design 320G toy hauler and it is rated at 16800 and our SRW F350 Supercrew SB handles well.

As far as if you can tow, refer to previous posts, good advice here. Heed the warnings on hitch weight. We're 12400 dry and travel light (no "toys"). We're traveling and I plan on hitting the scales at some point. I was just talking to a guy two sites over who had zero squat and is pulling a triple axle toy hauler that is every bit of 42 feet and he came up from Florida with it. Claimed it towed fine.
