I have been researching this truck I have. Everything about it is a 1968. The heater controls, the door panels and side reflectors are 1968 and the engine is a 360. However the VIN is a 1967 and the title is a 1967. I am assuming it was probably built in late June 1967 and they had run out of 67 parts and started building 68's, but since it was before July 1st, the had to VIN it as a 67.
Some state DMV's were/are very backward on titling vehicles by the year it was bought in versus using the proper model year as the rest of the country uses. A lot of them are southern states. Post the vin to double check it, and also compare the door vin with the frame vin.
I have checked all that and it all matches. I live in Tennessee and the truck was bought new here. Te lady that I bought the truck from told me that she and her husband bought the truck new. (She is 81 years old).
And her daughter verified it by telling me about riding in the truck when it was new and she was a kid. But yes I did check the VIN. It is a 67 VIN.

Last 6 digits of the VIN decode to the year.
1967: A00001 - B82000 // 1968: C00001 - D82000
1967's would not have ANY 1968 parts when sold new and vice versa.
52 years later, who knows what's been changed?
And, you cannot go by the VIN on the Warranty Plate, because it was too EZ to change.
Ford used the same Y VIN engine code for 1966/67 352 & 1968/76 360.
