Hi, I am Robert. I do not own a Ford truck now, but I did have a couple of 7.3 Power Stroke Trucks and a couple of Duramax trucks years ago. I had so many issues with my last Duramax and its ridiculous emissions BS I swore off diesel trucks ☹. I realized that was a mistake a few years later but having a family and a limited budget I have not been able to financially justify getting one these expensive trucks again. That has changed and I need more than the little truck I have access to right now. I was originally thinking about getting a pre ’08 diesel to skirt the DPF crap and save some money but decided that I should save up and get a new one because I will probably keep the truck for 10+ years and make it my daily driver and keep it through my kids’ college years. I really don’t need the diesel, but I want the Super Duty and the 8’ bed and I doubt that I will be happy if I settle for one of the gas options.
My goal for joining here is to plan my purchase of a new Ford Power Stroke so I make as few financial mistakes as possible and get the vehicle I will be happy with for the next decade. My current plan is to wait until the interior updates from the 2021 F-150 comes to the Super Duty and the new 10 speed can be tested. The ’21 F-150 also seems to have a lot of the tech options standard on lower trim levels compared to the ’20 F-150 and they will all come with the Sync 4 system. I just hope that the Super Duty follows suit in ’22. Plus, that gives me some time to get some money saved up.
Knowledge is power. If anyone has buying tips let me know. It has been 6 years since I have bought a new car and hate realizing I could have saved money after the purchase.
