Hello from North Georgia!
I've been in the wings watching for awhile and finally got it all together enough to justify joining up and asking some questions regarding the project. Its a 1960 F250 2wd Styleside. To say I'm excited to be here is an understatement, with the world where it is right now what better time to hunker into a build of a cool truck.
At 14 I'd gotten a 1946 GMC, (maybe the wrong place to admit that?) that was way over my head so it got sold when the needs of the project was well beyond my wallet, so it was traded for a 1988 Turbo coupe but 20+ years later and some other automotive paths (turbo 4 cylinder type Ford/Subaru/Mini) I find myself building what I wanted then. I guess I can say that my skills have developed to be capable of the imagination of my younger self.
The initial idea was I don't want a Mustang and its easier to convince my wife that I'd use a truck for more than burnouts. I've always loved the 60's TransAm cars as my Dad has always been into classic cars and road race type cars. Soo the initial idea is to put together a high(er) spinning daily/street friendly Trans Am series type drivetrain along the lines of a small block, manual transmission and some gears for open roads.
Theres some stuff in the works already with a 331 stroker build underway in the basement/shop, top loader 4 speed transmission scored and in general a hunt for bits, pieces and answers to make it all happen.
