Tilt steering swap

OK, so I've only been signed up to this board for two days and already I'm on my second post, but it's almost addictive. I have a 1990 F150 2wd shortbed standard with a 4.9L. It is the Custom edition, which basically means the no frills package. Unfortunately, this means no tilt steering which I could really benfit from. (I'm kinda tall, and the truck kinda isn't. Combine that with a 5-speed and... well, you get the idea.) Can I convert my steering column or can it be directly replaced? If it makes a difference, this is the model where the cruise controls are on the turn signal, not the wheel.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Tilt steering swap

I have the same question for my 88 F-150 Custom. I have the 302 with mazda 5 speed and no-tilt and no cruise so mine should be easier, right?

This would be good info.

While we are on this topic, how hard would it be for a 1995 F-150 with airbag? No cruise (although adding the factory cruise would be nice). Truck is 302, with 5 speed.

Ive been thinking about that swap also. It should be fairly easy, if you can find one the correct color at the local boneyard. I know that you can purchase them for the hotrod market. IDIDIT makes a bunch of columns, but they are expensive. If you get one from the boneyard, all the wires out to plug in that run through the column.
