ok when i first bought my bronco it had a set of leaky headers on it. took them off and put exhaust manifolds back on the old stock 302. no leaks and a bunch easier to work on. don't know what brand they were. putting in a 351w and am reconsidering on putting a set of headers back on. hate to use cast iron manifolds on a enging w/ gt4o heads. any brands out there that fit good and can still work on it ok???
I've had good luck with JBA shorty headers on my 302 stoker. Since I put them on, I check every once in a while to make sure the bolts are tight and gaskets are sealed, and I haven't had any problems. They were an exact fit in my 75 bronco. No starter clearance problems or anything. I don't know if they make a
custom 351w header, but it may be worth a check.
i just mounted up the wild horses ceramic coated headers... but i can't tell you much besides that they look good since i havn't even cranked up the engine
shorty headers might make it easier to work on? i looked at jba's web site and it dose not have a listion for a early bronco, i e-mailed them and asked if they did. where did you find yours at?
is the clearance ok on the wild horse headers? room to take the starter off and go on ok without any clearance problems?
I got my shorties from Wild Horses. Look under engine accessories on their website. The right side header may have interference with your starter because of the 351w taller deck.
called wild horse, they said the starter would clear better on a 351 bc the header being higher. was told that i would have to bend/dent the passanger side wheel house up for clearance on the 351 bc of the higher deck height vs a 302. guess i'll give them a try. thanks for the input
I double checked my headers today. The collecter flange is about 1/4 inch above the starter cup of the bellhousing and about 2&1/2 inches from the inside wheel well. There is plenty of room in height but not so much in width. It's my guess that you shoudn't have to bend the wheel well very much to make it fit.
BTW did your lightning motor come with the supercharger?
Well, with the body off i actually put the starteer on first, then the headers. There is plenty of clearance for them both, however when it comes replacement time for the starter the top bolt will be a %*&#@. However it is doable so if the performance gains and sound is there then they are deffinantly worth it.
Check out my gallery for pics of them:

bought a long block 5.8, have a performer intake 650 holley and duraspark ignition and the headers. pulled the 302 last night and have the 5.8 ready to go in. i am bumbed that i have to go away for the weekend and it will be next week before i get to fire it up. can't wait to see how it runs.
nice pic looks like a extremely clean ride.
bronco bud i think you might be thinking of the new 5.4 supercharged lightning motor? the 94-96 f150 lightning was a 5.8 with gt40 heads, bigger cam, 8.8:1 compression motor. nothing wild just a lot more than the tired 74 302 2v motor.
ok went cheaper and bought a set of hedman hedders. they were tight but they did fit. had to pull them in a little on the driver's side away from the brake lines. passanger side is close to the floor pan but it clears barely (gonna be hot on the feet in the floor). guess life would have been easier if someone made a set just for a 351w vs making a set for a 302 work. if it would have been a 302 they would fit perfect.
