Seat?
I have a really perplexing question. I am looking at a seat in a wrecking yard. But when I measured the seat track it was 1/2 inch narrower than my current seat. Now this is what the seat is almost like, I think (If I remember right I think this is the same style headrest.) But It might have the squared off design. I will be out again Monday at the yard, unless I get up early and go this afternoon instead!

Anyway, my question is this. Will this 1/2 inch be anything to worry about. This seat does have power adjust on it, and it does have the front tabs for the little console Ford offered. That is my main reason for looking at this seat, because this truck has no cupholders!

As for the track, being it's not a power seat, it should be an exact fit for your 88. I have a 89 cloth flight and a 93 and they're identical, you can fit either seat in either truck.

The seat I'm looking at has the two switches on the front, like the one in the picture. I am going to go pick the seat up tomorrow, (I've already talked to the people at the wrecking yard, {it's pitiful when you are on a first name basis with the owner's and the people who work there!} and I let them know I am going to get it tomorow.)

If I can happen upon 2 of those I would put one in the front and one in the back of my 86 Crew Cab. Should bolt right into yours though Bud. Good luck Brad Godkin

The seat in the picture is almost identical to the one I am looking at. The one I am going to pick up this morning, s a dakr gray on the bottom (around the front), and light gray on top. But I am getting this seat for (are you sitting down?) $40 or $50 the owner wouldn't give me a firm price the other day when I was in there. But the place that has the seat in the picture is a place called Seat Works. They have a website. he site address is: http://www.seatworks.com
Hope that helps.

I looked for a 40/20/40 seat for my 93 one time. Found one, but it listed for $400 from a parts house.

Thanks for the help. I'll be puting up a picture of my truck with the "new" seat in it in a couple of days. Now I have one more question, when I changed the seat out I lost all my leg room. I didn't expect this to happen as it is a 92 model seat. Should I have changed the mounting brackets out? If so I still have my old seat at the house.

I have the new seat in, but I have the pictures in the camera ready to go on the computer at the house. I'll get that done tomorrow afternoon. You wouldn't believe the difference a seat can make!

I had a set of Factory manuals from Ford for My 90. I loaned them out to a Guy and I have never seen them again. They had all the interior color codes. Other than that I am not toosure. Ford did do some nice looking interiors back then didn't they. Way ahead of their time. I just have two cloth benchs in mine but they are comfortable enough thats for sure and they are actually a good looking seat.
