2023 6.8 gas F250 XL 4x4 crew cab 6.8' bed with STX appearance package. With eco setting I normally sit at 17.5 mpg daily, lots of highway in the daily drive, and I set the cruise to the posted limit. We just took a 10 hour drive from Eastern North Carolina to Clarksville, TN and the truck netted 18.1. We went over the mountains and hit lots of traffic jams a couple of hours before getting in. I love the eco mode. In my experience, it tandems better with cruise control for the best results. I cancel the cruise when coming down big hills so the truck can just glide. If not it will down shift to jeep the speed where I set it. Yesterday we just towed an empty 6 x 12 uhaul from Clarksville to Quincy IL. I tried eco just to see what it looked like vs normal and tow/haul. Eco was 12, normal was 13.7, and tow haul was 12.5. I was going through Illinois during the experiment so the terrain was pretty flat and traffic was not causing issues. Even in St. Louis.

13.4mpg so far. No, I don't hand calc. This is a 2-ish hour highway trip in the mountains of SWVA @ 72-75mph, and about two weeks of daily driving to work and back. 9 miles each way on the outskirts of the city. 25-45mph speed limits.

My problem is it is almost impossible to drive in Houston or on highways at posted speed limits. Basically speed limits are a floor not a limit. Try driving speed limits, will get run over. My current F150 with 3.5 EB gets around 16+ at up to 90 mph. Highway driving usually at 80+, in Houston absolutely normal to hit 80 every day on beltway 8 and 225. Crazy traffic. When I get my F350 I will try to keep speeds lower but likely will not be very successful. Looking for 12 mpg if I am lucky. But I knew this before ordering the truck. I need the towing capacity the F150 is not made to do. New truck: F350 CCSB, 7.3, 4.30, Tremor.

My 2022 F350 DRW with 4.30s will get 12mpg at 80mph with little to no wind.
