Radio and APIM issue
Hello
I have a f250 XL with sync-my truck is loaded for the xl line. I started have an issue with my sync cutting out. Not long after my radio stated with loud static at times. I was told the APIM was bad and it was located in the radio. My APIM is to the right of glove box. I also felt I had more issue with the radio as well. This was an ongoing issue that ford failed to fix under warranty-with the sync cutting out. Can anyone suggest what I can do to repair. I like to keep my truck OEM and dont want an aftermarket radio in the truck. I have replaced the radio with a 2008 ford radio-green screenLED but same radio. My steering wheel controls dont work but at least I dont get the static and radio plays fine. I know I can get a APIM module for about 300 from fairway ford-best price. However, I would prefer better direction as I feel I need the radio as well. The truck as mentioned is the XL line with all factory options-the only two options it did not have was the sliding rear window and tailgate step. So its my work truck and I really enjoyed the sync while it worked-simple system for text messages and phone usage. Im a contractor and dont like the fancy "stuff",
