2008 Cab and Dash Wiring Harness Differences

I was wondering if there's any differences between the dash and cab harnesses between the 5.4 gas trucks and the 6.4 diesel trucks.

There's a difference in the 7.3 and 6.0 harness...so I'm going with yes.

Dash Vs. Cab harness.

Hello.

Here is what I can tell you... The Cab harness and the dash harness are two separate harnesses and have only a few connection points. The 6.4 D and 5.4 G have the same exact CAB harness but slightly different Dash harnesses taking into consideration that all truck options are the same and of the same year. There are other variations depending upon options and year so that needs to be taken into consideration such as Crew and Regular cab, nav non nav etc.

The dash harness between the D and the G Fseries are different because the Cluster and CABBUS system have different sensors and PCM so I would not attempt to swap over a dash harness from a 6.4 D to a 5.4 G BUT the Cab harness is the same but yet again one must be from similar optioned truck from same year.

What is the specific reason you're asking? I may be able to provide better information if I knew what you were trying to do or fix.
Thanks

I’m helping Vadis with his swap to convert a gas truck over to diesel, we have wiring diagrams on the way to see what is different, so far we know for sure the engine bay (and engine) harness are different, transmission harness is different and frame harness is different also. I know the pcm and ipc are different but the can bus wiring is the same and the ipc looks to be the same plug and wiring wise except for the plug air filter wire. I really can’t see what else they would of change wiring wise between the two as the different engines just change the under hood wiring.

We have the 6.4 pcm, 6.4 tcm and getting a diesel ipc, can’t think of anything else that would change from the engine swap.

I'm new here and cruising the forums and this caught my eye, What I do know about this if it hasn't been figured out yet through trial and error is that each year 08 09 10 have different main wiring harness plugs so whatever harness you get it should be from that year truck or you can swap the 30 plus wires to match whatever plug the truck was built with.
