My 1987 E350 Econoline van ( motorhome )
started to die on me when it was hot and I was running at a low idol , let it cool off for 20 to 30 minutes and starts back up , did that a bunch of times it made it to a NAPA and replaced the coil , Stopped to get gas and do the same thing . I checked for spark when it wasn’t starting and there was none , Few minutes later it started back up . After making it home shut it off , tried to restart it and it would not . Next day when it was cold it fired right up , it is carbureted with a distributor , any help would be appreciated !!
Thanks , I changed the ignition control module, I was told it could act just like a bad coil and took it out for test drives today, and thankfully it’s working like a champ!
I had to replace the coil on my 73 last year for the same reason, when I was younger, my F100 quit when hot, the duraspark box was bad, it liquefied the sealer that is over the components.
