I'm putting a rebuilt 390 into my 76 F150 and it has an Edelbrock 4 barrel aluminum intake. I have a couple of 2 barrel carbs lying around including the Motorcraft 2150 that was on my old 360 and I had just had that carb rebuilt, so I'm planning to put that on the new engine. I figure, it's not that hard to upgrade to a 4 barrel carb down the line if I feel the need to drop another $350. I've been looking at the universal carb adapters and I've seen some comments on some of them that they didn't fit the Motorcraft 2150 very well. Does anyone have any experience with these adapters or know one that fits well?
Someone else probably has personal experience, but from what I've read they don't work well. Your intake was made for a 4 barrel and that's what it needs. I'd sell the 2150 and use those funds towards a 4 barrel.
