Easy question for you all... I have a leak coming from my M5R2 from something on the side. I attached a picture and was just wondering if someone could tell me what this part is, and if I can remove it without all kinds of internal parts moving around and causing problems. It looks like something that would have a seal or I ring that I can replace, but I've learned to ask questions before I start disassembling things! Thanks in advance.

I I don't know what that part is but have you checked the rubber bushings on the cover. Could be leaking from them and draining down there .
Yes, thanks, but it's not that. I got this trans used before I put it in my 66 F100. I got a full gasket kit, replaced mostly everything, replaced the rubber plugs with freeze plugs and rtv. Everything above the part pictured was nice and dry. I checked the fluid level and it wasn't even low, so it just leaked enough to get messy (I cleaned it up before taking the picture). So, anyone know what that part is?
