Been noticing that when driving the truck after it sits all night or day if I back up then drive forward and touch the brakes I hear a single light clunk coming from the left front. It sounds like the sounds something makes when it hangs up then releases.
Do I have a caliper or something sticking? It only does it once then is fine until I let it sit for an extended period of time.
I haven't taken it to the dealer yet because I only they won't catch it and I don't want to drop the truck off then make the hour drive the next morning to be there only to have them tell me it's normal.
ETA. The truck is a 2019 with 12000 miles.
If the brakes seem otherwise okay, I would not pin it to brakes. You can sometimes get this if the pad retainers or caliper pins come loose. That would be pretty rare. If there was a mechanical fault -ad I'm not writing that there is one- I would say wheel bearing or maybe a U-joint.
You're right. Dealer won't do anything with it unless they can duplicate a complaint and it's very obvious. I would ignore it until it presents itself as a constant problem
