Loadamatic distributor, missing rotor retaining clip
Where can I get such a thing?? Haven't tried the Ford dealer, true, but it's a crap shoot if he has the books, though the local IS a long-time dealer.
So, I'd need part number (gotta get those books...). For now, I made a clip from shim stock, though I'd rather the OEM.
Next, what choices have I for changing this thing??
For the afternoon crowd (those younger than 50), the Ford Loadamatic distributor was an idea whose time just never came. Vacuum advance only, no centrifugal advance at all. Used on non-crab distributor flathead V8s, probably flat 6's too, as well as seemingly everything OHV 6ish made until about 1966 or so. And I've had my share, 50% of my Ford trucks have had these b@#tards.
Obviously HD 240s and 300s, but was there an aftermarket distributor?? I can't keep up with everything, so I'm asking you all.
Thank you
P.S. A quick Google (I AM embarrassed for not trying before...) reveals that such a thing not only exists, but fit just about every Ford ever made with a rotor.
Still, I really like centrifugal advance...
