New Pads are smaller ?
Hi. Doing a front brake job on my truck. dually 4x4 2016 6.7. i purchased pads from my ford dealer part number BR1680, but when i compare them to what came out of my truck the new have less width ? the metal plate is the same yet the braking material is 1/4 inch smaller. I dont realy like the idea of putting these in with less surface contact, doesnt that mean lesser braking ?. i like upgrading not down. Dealer is closed until tomorrow, and i want to know if this is the only option from Ford ? so i can continue putting my truck back together tonight. My truck has camper springs and 5th wheele prep from factory, so i wonder if they fit a severe duty pads in some trucks.

I had ordered some new pads from a brake company in Canada and ended up having the same thing happen as you did. They ended up sending me a replacement set and claimed the difference was F250 vs F350. Maybe it's the same for you?
