I just wanted to post some successes I have had so far upgrading the interior of my 1990 F150 custom.
I was able to take out of the 1984 F150 XLT
Chrome door handles
Chrome map lights
Chrome door locks cover
both vent windows
I plan on trying to take the tilt steering out of the truck and see if it fits on mine.
things that didnt work
intermittent wiper switch only turned my wiper on and that was it, it wouldnt do any other speeds.
I thought that Ford would have pre wired the doors for the wiring that goes with the power door locks and windows? I only got speaker wire in mine. I was thinking of using the power locks.
I was able to get the interior XLT badge off to put in my truck, looks good on my dash
The 80-86 Power Door locks use the same wiring as the 87-97 trucks did, but used independent switches on the door panels instead of the combined switches.
It's not that hard to wire your own harness for the door locks and/or windows. They use 16 guage wiring OEM.

Can you explain this anymore? Do I need to cut these wires from under the dash? How did they ever replace the doors? Is there a connector that I can disconnect under the dash? I would greatly appreciate this help.
Although you got the wiper switch you missed the "control box" it plugs into. You need both. The wiring from the switch runs into it and then out into the standard plugin like a non-delay wiper assembly. You'll see, it's a very simple swap. You can spot the little control box as it will have "do not drop" printed on the side of it (and they mean it, dropping it on concrete can kill it).
I put power windows in my 82 by removing the entire window/lock harness from an 86. Each door has a harness that unplugs just behind the kick panels. The other harness runs across the top of the dash, plugs into the doors and the back of the fuse box. If you take care removing it, you don't have to cut a single wire and it will all "plug+play" right into your truck.
The 87-91 wiring I don't know about, I suspect there might be enough minor differences to mess you up though. Might work if you get it complete with the door panels and all. If you use the panels, be sure to get the brackets they screw onto at the door pull. They are different from the 86 and older trucks. (I had to use an 85 door to replace a damaged one on my 89)
Zieg is that truck an F250? Does it have a split bench front seat? Mine is red in/out but already changed the door panels and carpet from a XLT Lariat.
DanTana it is the split bench and sits perfect. My interior is perfect and the PW, PDL all work like they should. It is on the FTE classifieds ad #10257 It is a F-150 $850 for the whole truck and yes there is a clear title with it.
I found a 6 disc CD changer from under the seat of my donor truck, panasonic but hey, it was free! Thanks GypsyR for that info, i will look into it. Anyone had any success switching from regular steering column to tilt? I would like to know before i tear mine apart...lol
Zieg, Saw your ad and that's not a bad looking truck, problem is I only paid $600.00 for my 88 F250 and really didn't want to pay more for a parts truck than my running one. But I'm in Joliet, Illinois not far from Hebron if you decide to part it out. I would like the grill guard, running boards, and the seats. Too bad those are 5 bolt pattern rims or I'd want them too. BTW, mine is a Super Cab also.
